18 months ago, we were approached to build this Mazda B1600 ute. The owner had three requests. First request it had to be powered by a rotary engine, second request he wanted the Mazda on the back tailgate to be the colour blue and third request was he wanted a Rotary badge positioned somewhere on the vehicle, the rest was up to us. First step was to the Sdr motorsport fabrication workshop, where Matt got busy installing the engine and gearbox and all related fabrication, including a Hilux diff conversion and custom EFI fuel tank. While Steve and Steph were busy building the 13B bridgeport, then Steve Grech panel beated the car, and Adam laid down the paint. Once it arrived to Sdr Motorsport, Luke assembled the car and Nathan rewired the car, including the Emtron SL4, DBW solenoid, and all the goodies. Sdr motorsport & the KOS13B team, along with Evan

Sdr motorsport & the KOS13B team, along with Evan from Unigroup engineering took the Rx3 out for its second time with the new billet engine combo & running on methanol. A slipping clutch cut short the first outing the end of last year. So we sent the clutch to Direct clutch services for a service. The first planned 1000ft pass at yesterday's test n tune. Saw Adam run 8.0 at 141mph with early shut off. Back in the pits we noticed the oil pressure was surging during the run. So we decided to call it a day. We will be back out soon.
